A wealthy novelist suffers a heart attack. The will has not yet been opened, and the greedy and hapless heirs set the tone for this vaudeville that is as comical as it is ferocious. An innocent but hilarious housekeeper, a young widow who is quick to rejoice, a daughter married to a fake son-in-law, a neighbor who wants to take advantage of the situation to enlarge his apartment, an annoyed undertaker and a banker are all cynical and funny characters who make a merry and interested circle around a coffin that has not yet been closed… with a dead man… who is not so dead!
